Shelter Manager Begins Career Path at RichmondCC

HAMLET – Veronica Roberts of Hamlet is the shelter manager at New Horizons Life and Family Services, which is a domestic violence organization located in Richmond County. She is also a 2015 Richmond Community College graduate with an associate degree in Human Services Technology and two certificates in Social Gerontology and At-Risk Youth Technician.

HAMLET – The stars keep getting bigger and brighter in the show line-up for the DeWitt Performing Arts Series. Headlining the 2017-18 season is a duet performance featuring Nashville recording artist Phil Vassar and country music darling Kellie Pickler on their special holiday tour.

HAMLET – Richmond Community College has announced its honor lists for the Summer 2017 Semester. The President’s List identifies students who earn an “A” in all courses and have a 4.0 grade point average while carrying 12 or more semester credit hours. The Dean’s List identifies students who attain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 and earn no letter grade lower than a “B” while carrying 12 or more semester hours in a degree or diploma program. The following students received recognition for their academic achievements.

Hamlet, N.C. (July 26, 2017) – Through its member-funded SECU Foundation, State Employees Credit Union has awarded five local students an SECU Continuing Education Scholarship valued at $750 to study at Richmond Community College.

HAMLET – Duke Energy continues its investment in Richmond Community College’s Electric Utility Substation and Relay Technology (EUSRT) program to help build a skilled workforce for the energy industry. The Duke Energy Foundation awarded a $50,000 grant to the College’s Foundation to expand the curriculum of the EUSRT program that prepares students to become relay technicians and transformer test specialists.

HAMLET – The grand celebration and membership drive kick-off for the President’s Club of Richmond Community College will now be held Sept 28 starting at 6 p.m. at the Cole Auditorium.

 

The President’s Club is an exclusive club for alumni and other individuals interested in supporting and connecting with RichmondCC.

HAMLET – Ten graduates of the Practical Nursing program at Richmond Community College exited the Cole Auditorium on July 18 with lighted lamps in a symbolic gesture of beginning a journey into a noble profession.

HAMLET – Richmond Community College will hold a mandatory orientation for its fall truck driver training course at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, in room 130 of the Lindsey-Petris Building on the college’s main campus in Hamlet. This orientation session is the first step for people who want to get into the training class and begin a career in the trucking industry.

Hamlet – Anthony Fuller decided to open Premier Auto Imports in downtown Hamlet after doing some research about the need for a foreign car dealer in Richmond County. Being new to the area, he worked with Richmond Community College’s Small Business Center to become more familiar with the surrounding community and to develop a plan for his business.
