ROCKINGHAM — Betty Jo Bullard Hoyle, 87, of Rockingham passed away on Friday, Sept. 17, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Betty was born on May 15, 1934 in Alamance County, a daughter of the late Warren Douglas Bullard and Ada Kelly Bullard.
She was a registered nurse and received her Masters Degree from UNC Charlotte, and was the director of Maternity Care at Richmond Memorial Hospital. In free time, she loved to spend time at the beach and was an avid reader.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Monnie Duke Hoyle Jr.; and a grandson, Brandon Rich.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Hendrix (Keith) of Raleigh, Lynn Tavai (Richard) of Marston; her son, Douglas Francis Hoyle of Rockinghan; her grandchildren, Brian Braddock, Heather Rich, Nicholas Hoyle and Zachary Hoyle; great-grandchildren, Sarah Benderoff, Kenleigh Raynor; great-great-grandchildren, Kurt Benderoff and Riley Benderoff; and a sister, Patricia Ann Benson.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. The family will greet friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
