HAMLET — Della Faye Sheppard, 69, of Hamlet passed away Friday, Dec. 18, 2020 at her home.
She was born Aug. 28, 1951 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Herman Franklin Jacobs Sr. and Etta Peele Hodges.
She retired from the textile industry. She was devoted Christian and loved praising Jesus and bragging about how great God is. She enjoyed making quilts and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cheraw, South Carolina, with the Rev. Kelly Hunt officiating. Due to COVID-19, please wear a face mask and please continue to social distancing.
Surviving are her lifetime companion, David Wright of Hamlet; sons, Alex Odom and wife (Dru) of Rockingham and Michael Odom of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; a daughter, Chrystal Wright of Hamlet; a sister, Elaine Huckabee of Hamlet; brothers, Louis Jacobs of Hamlet and Gene Jacobs of Florence, South Carolina; grandchildren, Cassidy Odom of Hamlet, Courtney Guity, Camryn Odom, Kaden Davis, Braxton Voncannon, Richard Voncannon and Elizabeth Greene, all of Rockingham; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
