ROCKINGHAM — Dorothy Mae Clark Coggins, 73, passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020 following a period of declining health.
Born March 11, 1947, in Marlboro County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Leander Clark and Verlie Mae Carter.
Prior to health problems, Dorothy was a truck driver and worked with ARD out of Darlington, South Carolina, for several years. Her hobbies included arts and crafts and sewing.
She is survived by one son, David Williams of the home; two grandchildren, David Williams Jr. and Sarah Nicole Williams; and three sisters: Lib Williams (Gene) of McColl, South Carolina, Peggy Lambert of Maxton and Margaret Call (Steve) of Kannapolis.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and one son, Johnny Williams; one sister, Ann Garrison; and two brothers, Buddy Clark and Jack Clark.
In accordance with Dorothy’s wishes, her body is being donated to medical research in hopes that it may benefit others. The family will have a memorial service at a later date to be announced.
