Mary Lue Jamison

HOFFMAN — Mary Lue Ray Jamison, 95, of Hoffman, passed away on Friday, Sept. 6, 2019 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

She was born to the late Louis Ray and Luvenia Kelly Ray on July 27, 1924. She was an only child.

She was married to the late Marion “Speedy” Jamison on March 29, 1944. They were happily married for 48 years.

She worked at Pinehurst Nursing Center for many years before she retired. But retirement didn’t stop her. She continued to enjoy her life tending to her gardens, sitting on her porch “people watching,” and fishing. She lived her life on her own terms. No explanations or apologies. And those who knew her knew she would speak her mind …. no matter the time or place.

She is survived by 11 nieces, eight nephews; a special friend, Willie James Ellerbe; and a host of other relatives and friends. And from that host of friends, Mary Lue had a couple people that held a special place in her heart: LaToya Ratliff and Lang Hayes.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019 at Jones and Little Funeral Home Chapel in Aberdeen. A public viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Jamison Cemetery in Hoffman.

Jones and Little Funeral Home is assisting the family.
