Betty Lou Webb Arnette, 90, of Rockingham, passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022 at Terrabella Assisted Living Center in Summerville, South Carolina.
Mrs. Arnette was born Nov. 12, 1932 in Anson County, a daughter of the late Platt and Alma Diggs Webb.
She was an active member of West Rockingham United Methodist Church for over 80 years and served in many capacities in the church. One of her favorites was being on the hospitality committee, making sure everyone was fed. She was a waitress with the family restaurant Webb’s Fish Camp and later with the Holiday Restaurant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jack B. “Buck” Arnette; brother, Harold W. Webb and sister, Ruth Richardson.
Surviving are her children, Luann A. Adams (Steve) and Jacqueline Arnette; grandchildren, Shannon A. Harper (Mike), Steve Adams (Adriana) and Holly Mills; great-grandchildren, Rachel, Emma, Lyric, Nola, Mina, Cade, Kailey and Jazmine; brother, John Webb (Martha); sisters, Libby Haithcock and Linda Davis (Martin); and numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023 at West Rockingham United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Haber officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6–8 p.m. Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
