Charles Pate Parks, 69, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill.
He was born Oct. 2, 1953 in Hamlet, son of the late Lonnie Lee Parks and Margaret Hill Parks.
Charles loved working with computers and earned an associate degree in Computer Technology from Sandhills Community College, Pinehurst. He worked primarily as a maintenance manager with the housing authority in both Hamlet and Laurinburg. He loved to fish and enjoyed cookouts and get-togethers with his family. He was an avid sports fan of the Carolina Tar Heels.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harrison Parks; and sister, Kathy Harris.
Charles is survived by his wife of 46 years, Donna Gaddy Parks of the home; daughter, Amiee Parks Leviner (Michael) of Rockingham; granddaughter, Kayleigh Paige Leviner of Rockingham; sisters, Carol Sinclair of Rockingham and Donna Haddock of Morven; mother-in-law, Barbara Gaddy of Rockingham (he lovingly referred to her as Ma Gaddy); sisters-in-law and brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charlie Tyler to officiate at 3:45 p.m.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home on Willow Road, Rockingham.
