HAMLET — Thomas William Brooks Sr., age 76, passed away on Feb. 27, 2023 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.
Thomas was born on Oct. 14, 1946 in Robeson County.
He was retired from Wade Manufacturing in Wadesboro.
Thomas was a farmer at heart always. He loved visiting with family and friends and never met a stranger. He was always willing to talk about the Lord. In his retirement years, he enjoyed breakfast at the Holiday Restaurant and Biscuitville. He loved his family. He was a longtime member at Hopewell Independent Baptist Church in Hamlet.
Thomas is survived by his daughters, Mia Pressley, Alisa Williams (Stanley), Beth Mabe (Brian), and a son, Thomas William Brooks Jr; grandchildren, Casey Smith, Hunter Smith (Taylor), Arthur Williams Jr., Ashley Williams and Ananda Williams, Lexie Mabe (Shane), Tori Mabe and Tyler Mabe; great-grandchildren, Axel Smith and Flinnt Harris.
He is also survived by his brother, John Brooks, and sisters, Bitha Young, Grace Dennis and Jewel Stubbs; and a host of nephews and nieces.
Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Anne Brooks; his parents, Well and Mary Liza Brooks; brothers, Lee Vance Brooks, Harvey Well Brooks, Homer Brooks; and a sister, Alisa Gail Brooks.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Watson King Funeral Home in Hamlet, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Hopewell Independent Baptist Church in Hamlet, with the Rev. Michael Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery.
