Richard Singeltary

ROCKINGHAM — Richard Eric Singletary Sr. of Rockingham, passed away in his home surrounded by his family Friday, Oct. 4, 2019.

Richard was born June 3, 1954, a son of the late Elmer and Gladys Melton Singletary of East Rockingham.

Richard was also preceded in death by one brother, Gene Singletary of Sanford.

Richard is survived by his wife of 46 years, Myra Chavis Singletary of the home; his children, Eric Singletary of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Chris Singletary and wife Deana of Rockingham, and Melinda Singletary Murphy of Rockingham; George Reeves and wife Megan; six grandchildren, Tabitha Reeves, Dillon Butler, Nicholas Murphy Jr., Nathan Singletary, Crimson Singletary and Ashley Murphy; and two great-grandchildren; siblings, Bobby Singletary and wife Carolyn of Hamlet, Dennis Singletary Sr., and wife Fay of Rockingham, Roger Singletary and wife Angela of Thomasville, Nancy Singletary Millen and husband Wayne “Bill” of Rockingham, Gail Singletary Pate of Rockingham, and Donald Singletary of Rockingham; and a host of extended family.
