Willie Mae Knight Quick

BENNETTSVILLE, S.C. — Willie Mae Knight Quick, 81, of Bennettsville, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, Aug. 13, 2021 at Scotland Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 10, 1940 in Scotland County, daughter of Brazzle Knight Sr. and Willie Robinson Knight.

Ms. Quick was a lifetime member of the Ghio Church of God of Prophecy, where she also sang in the choir and faithfully served her church until her recent illness. She loved to cook, most notably her chicken-n-dumplings and thin-layer chocolate cakes. Willie Mae also loved reading her Bible, watching westerns and Jimmy Swaggart.  She loved her children and grandchildren, and they loved her!

A visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 16, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at the Ghio Church of God of Prophecy. 

The funeral service will be Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021 at 4 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Larry Bullard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Face coverings and social distancing will be required for all services.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Carroll Quick; son, Mark Quick Sr.; brothers, Dennis Ray Knight and James Martin Knight; and sister, Jeannie Mae Quick.

Survivors include her son, Randy Quick of Bennettsville, South Carolina; daughter-in-law, Crystal Quick of Bennettsville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Mark Quick Jr. and Gracie Quick; brother, Brazzle “Jun” Knight Jr. (Lucy) of Wallace, South Carolina; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Ghio Church of God of Prophecy Improvement Fund, 668 Springhill Church Road, Hamlet, NC  28345.
