“Yearbook is my favorite class,” Rhyne said. “I enjoy going around the school and taking pictures for the yearbook and working on that for everyone to enjoy.”

Rhyne is also a member of the Quill and Scroll Club, an honors society for students involved in journalism and scholastic publications.

Before the holiday break, the Richmond cheerleading team participated in the SAC competition held at Southern Lee High School. With a score of 216.7 points, the Lady Raiders placed second behind winner Pinecrest.

As a front spot, Rhyne’s job during the team’s performances was to assist the other bases during stunts and relieve some of the pressure. She also served as an extra person to catch the fliers and participated in jumps, cheers and the team’s dance.

The Richmond cheerleading team will participate in its second competition of the winter, the NCHSAA state competition, on Saturday, Dec. 3. The team is scheduled to perform at 1:50 p.m. at the Raleigh Convention Center.
