The Rev. Clyde Hildreth

ROCKINGHAM — The Rev. Clyde Bennett Hildreth Sr., 81, of 108 Taylor Drive, Rockingham, went to be with his Lord, Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 at his home.

He was born May 21, 1938, in Richmond County, son of Kitchen Bennett Hildreth and Lula Mae Teston Hildreth.

He was a minister since the age of 15 years old and loved preaching and sharing the message of God’s salvation. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sarah Gay Freeman Hildreth; brother, Robert Lee Hildreth; and two sisters, Louise Bayner and Mary Morgan.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Diane Rittermeyer of Thomasville; son, Clyde Bennett “Benny” Hildreth Jr. of Rockingham; brother, James Ray Hildreth of Rockingham; special friend, Barbara Sale of Rockingham; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Per his request there will be no service.

Harrington Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Hildreth family.
