Betty Brigman

HAMLET — Betty Joyce (Turner) Brigman, 86, of Hamlet, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020, from FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst following a period of declining health.

She was the daughter of the late George and Lula Hutchinson Turner from Anson County.

Her life’s work was in caring for others. Not only was she a dedicated homemaker who loved her family, she also worked as a caregiver and nurse’s assistant in various rest homes and healthcare facilities. Her motto was “God first, others second and self last” and that is how she lived her life. She was a devoted member of Temple Baptist Church and attended as long as she was able.

Her memory will be cherished by her husband, Jack Page Brigman, of the home; one son, Robert Page “Fireball” Brigman and fiancé Barbara Lowe, of Hamlet; one grandson, Joshua Seth Brigman of Rockingham; her caregiver, Shelia Todd, to whom the family extends a special thanks; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at Eastside Cemetery in Rockingham with Pastor Joey Byrd and the Rev. Russell Edwards officiating.

In compliance with the COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing and facial coverings are requested. There will be no formal visitation.

Carter Funeral Home is serving the Brigman family. Condolences may be posted online at www.carterfuneral.net.
