OBITUARY: John Edward Ingram Jr.

ROCKINGHAM — John Edward Ingram Jr., 71, of Rockingham, went home to be with his Lord and Savior June 23, 2023 at Richmond Co. Hospice Haven, surrounded by his family.

Born Aug. 16, 1951, the son of John Edward Ingram Sr. and Ann Sanford Ingram.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in Vietnam. He was a welder by trade. He worked in shipyards in Jacksonville, Florida, and on offshore oil rigs in Louisiana. He loved his family. He also loved to cook, have a garden and fish.

He is survived by his sons, John “Travis” Ingram (Barbara) and Josh Ingram, both of Cheraw, South Carolina; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol Criscoe (Tommy) and Teresa Hancock (Jimmy) of Rockingham; and one brother, Jay Ingram (Toni) of Laurinburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jason Ingram; and a nephew, Adam Hancock.

We were so blessed to have him, love him and take care of him. We have wonderful memories and a bond that will never be broken.

A memorial service will be held at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham, Thursday June 29 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Joe Wilkes officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation an hour before the service.
