OBITUARY: Martha M. Robbins

Martha M. Robbins, 89, of Marston passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023 at her home.

She was born March 19, 1934 in Richmond County, daughter of the late Colon and Cora Yates McNair.

She was an active and devoted member of Marston Baptist Church, supporting WMU activities and volunteering at the soup kitchen. She worked alongside her husband, Ray, at Robbins Exxon for the 37 years it was open.

In her retirement years, she put her family first. She loved her family deeply and was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Not only did she care for her immediate family, she visited and cared for those in her extended family as well. She loved flowers and working in the yard. It brought her great joy to sit out on the porch with the flowers surrounding her. She also liked to play a game of UNO or Yahtzee that would bring smiles and laughter to all.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Robbins Sr. and son, Ray Robbins Jr.

She is survived by her son, Mike Robbins (April), daughter Leanne R. Hilliard (Doug), and daughter-in-law Nancy R. Blake. She was blessed to have five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Marston Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024. Burial will follow at the Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at Marston Baptist Church prior to the service.
